About Emmy

Emmy has been a committed student of Kundalini Yoga since 1999 and has been teaching since 2004.  She has taught beginning and intermediate classes, prenatal yoga and yoga for actors.  She is a Certified Kundalini Yoga Instructor through the Kundalini Research Institute, after completing a 200-hour training  (Level I) in Espanola, New Mexico under the direction of Yogi Bhajan in 2003.  Emmy returns to Espanola annually to complete a 300-hour Level II training program, to deepen her practice and to elevate herself as a teacher.  She is honored to have studied under Gurucharan Singh, Shanti Shanti Kaur, Nirvair Singh, Krishna Kaur and many other fabulous teachers.
Emmy is devoted to teaching in a way that elevates the student to the awareness of the Infinite within them.  Her mission is to help direct the student to his/her own Inner Wisdom that will always stay with them and support them in their lives, come what may.  One of her greatest joys  is teaching Kundalini Yoga.

Brief Personal Bio
Emmy grew up in the Catskill Mountains region of New York State. As a young adult she earned a BA in Biology, and traveled solo, for more than two years, around the world spending much time in Asia.  After settling in Boston, MA she studied the cultures and languages of China and Japan and returned to both countries several times.  Having a life-long love for theatre she spent much of her spare time both on the stage and working backstage. She studied shiatsu massage and began a private practice working from her Cambridge, MA apartment.  For 15 years she worked in the field of epidemiologic research at the Harvard School of Public Health where she earned a MS degree. Prior to her 40th birthday, she gave in to a strong desire to connect to the earth in a more meaningful way and to live a more sustainable lifestyle.  She left her job and began a two-year journey across the United States that finally led her to Port Townsend, WA where she and her new-found partner Adam began a life as organic farmers.  At age 42 she gave birth to her lovely daughter, Aurora in Port Townsend.  In March 2011 Emmy and her family moved to Ashland, Oregon where Adam is farming, Aurora is in school and Emmy edits scientific manuscripts and is happy to be teaching Kundalini Yoga. She loves teaching yoga and invites you to attend her class.

  1. An unsolicited recommendation of Ms. Emmy Graham:
I have had the incredible joy of knowing Emmy for more than a decade. Emmy truly embodies what it means, in the parlance of the path of Kundalini yoga, to be a Graceful Woman. She is profoundly wise, insightful, compassionate, warm and generous of heart. Emmy is strong and clear, honest and true in every way. She is modest and humble, artfully articulate and well-spoken, and has a fabulously intelligent mind and delightful, quick sense of humor. Emmy's devotion to her loved ones runs hand-in-hand with her profound devotion to her yogic path. To study yoga with her would be a huge privilege and treat -- if you live in the area -- Get Thee to her classes! Sat Nam!
